Collinsville needs you to Help preserve Its street trees!
Mark your calendar and come vote YES at the Special Town Meeting on Wednesday, April 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Canton Community Center.
We will be voting to approve expenditure of $3,000 from the Public Works budget to fund the town’s share of the cost of developing a tree plan for Collinsville.
Collinsville’s public trees are very much in need of assessment, care and, in some cases, replacement. This project will provide valuable information at minimal cost, identifying hazard trees that could lead to liability, while ensuring that appropriate replacement trees are planted.
Mature trees increase property values, reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gases, and provide shade, windbreak, and a habitat for birds and other animals. By replenishing our urban forest, Canton residents can maintain the town’s character for ourselves and future generations!
